1/6/09 - Shank's Tavern, Front & Waterford Streets, Marietta. www.shankstavern.com - Shank's Tavern is Lancaster County's Oldest Continually Operated Family Tavern. I popped in here with the purpose of having 1 drink in all of the Marietta bars, however that plan went south quickly as they had live entertainment and great company. Raspberry Guinness Milkshake Martinis, Coffee Martinis, Dark Side of the Monk, Straub's Dark, and more led to a 4 hour visit.

1/7/09 - The Underground (Hot Z Pizza Columbia), Columbia Ave, Mountville. www.hotzpizza.com. I had to work 130-10pm so I missed my scheduled happy hour at nearby Union Station but was able to catch up with some 505ers at the Underground. I tried to count this visit last week but the 505 rules committe determined that "
an after shift beer" doesn't count, so I came back this evening as a paying customer. We got down to business immediately with a couple of rounds of Little Beers (Licor 43 w/cream floater), followed by an evil Brasilian drink made with distilled sugar cane, and a few big beers. As Wednesday is $1.00 Pizza Slice night I needed some bacon for energy and got a slice of DOUBLE BACON.
1/7/09 - The Midway Hotel , Columbia Ave. After the Underground we decided to head back towards home in Lancaster City, but when you are on a mission to hit hundreds of bars in a year, you need to fit places in where you can so we stopped at the Midway Hotel on Columbia Ave. The Midway is that great little bar across from Leisure Lanes and you've probably never been there. Well, that's your loss. This place is great. Where else can you get a Flounder Sandwich for $2.95? Huh? Try that at Red Lobster.
The men's room features one of our favorite urinals in Lancaster County. One of those old skool models that go from your chest all the way to the floor so even if you have had 8 too many, you can't miss. And, for you loyal readers you do know that we love great bathrooms at 505, so here are a few more great pics.

1/7/09 -
The Lucky Dog, Columbia Ave. We made it to the Lucky Dog just in time for last call. The Lucky Dog is a favorite of the restaurant community because they are open late on week nights and you are always bound to see off duty bartenders and waitresses in there from your favorite places. Less pictures here as we were on time constraints (and the booze was catching up)
