Bar Quest 2009 Home

Mon 1/12/09. Villa Nova, 1310 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster PA (717) 299-4931  Monday night after work I met up with Dale (Bar Manager, The Underground) who accompanied me on the BarQuest for the evening. We first stopped in at the Villa Nova East on Harrisburg Pike. The Villa Nova is known for their Tips Subs and they didn't disappoint. We each got a medium served with steak fries and they were simply amazing. Joe the owner applauded our quest and sent over a shot of Sambucca and Campari for us, and being Italian I enjoyed the nectar from the mother country. We washed the food and shots down with a handful of Miller Lite drafts and moved on to our second stop.

Mon 1/12/09  Hildy's Tavern. 448 W. Frederick St., Lancaster PA (717) 397-2495 Hildy's is a dive, and we mean that in a nice way. It really is just a great place to drink, have fun, and not worry about what you are wearing, what you do for a living, etc. It is just a fun little corner bar. We decided to have some of their drink specials including a "Black Out". They have tons of colorful signs behind the bar listing all of their special shots. For a real treat... visit the men's room. The only thing worse than needing to drop a deuce here might've been CBGB's back in the day. We love you Hildy's!
