What is a Foodie? Foodie is an informal term for a particular class of aficionado of food and drink. Although the terms Foodie & Gourmet are sometimes used interchangeably, foodies differ from gourmets in that gourmets are epicures of refined taste, whereas foodies are amateurs who simply love food for consumption, study, preparation, and news. Gourmets simply want to eat the best food, whereas foodies want to learn everything about food, both the best and the ordinary, and about the science, industry, and personalities surrounding food.

The Lancaster 505 Happy Hour Club started in May of 2005. The goal was to provide a free networking environment while supporting local bars and restaurants. "Done Work At Five, At The Bar By 5:05" become our official motto. The unofficial motto was "No dues, no name tags, no popped collars" meaning basically that all are welcome.

Wednesday afternoon Happy Hours soon became the "IN THING" and the 505 took hold.
With  the pesky invention of Facebook we moved most of our discussion and content to Facebook. Join us, we'll keep you up to date on happy hours, and our annual Santa Stumble which benefits the Lancaster City Mounted Police and K-9 units.
